Join Our Mission-Driven Community Mental Health Team

At our organization, we are dedicated to transforming lives by delivering compassionate, individualized mental health care to our community. We value collaboration, clinical excellence, and innovation, and strive to foster a supportive environment where every team member contributes to meaningful patient outcomes and professional growth. Our culture encourages flexibility, ongoing learning, and a shared commitment to mental wellness.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced  Psychiatrist (MD/DO)to provide limited-hours clinical oversight for an established outpatient community mental health practice. This unique role offers a very part-time, 100% remote position without the demands of managing a traditional psychiatric patient caseload.

The Psychiatrist will collaborate closely with our  Clinical Directors and clinical leadership team , offering psychiatric oversight by reviewing and approving treatment plans as clinically appropriate. This position is ideal for psychiatrists who wish to remain actively engaged in behavioral healthcare with a flexible schedule and a focus on quality assurance and clinical consultation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly review treatment plans developed by the clinical team, ensuring clinical appropriateness, completeness, and alignment with accepted standards of care.
  • Provide timely psychiatrist review and sign-off on treatment plans, within the scope of professional practice.
  • Collaborate closely with Clinical Directors to address clinical concerns, support treatment planning, and maintain high standards of care.
  • Offer expert clinical consultation on complex or challenging cases, contributing to optimal patient outcomes.
  • Identify and communicate treatment-plan issues that require additional review, clarification, or revision.
  • Make recommendations to enhance clinical quality and improve treatment-planning processes.
  • Participate in focused clinical leadership meetings to support ongoing quality improvement initiatives related to treatment planning and clinical service delivery.
  • Maintain accessibility and responsiveness during mutually agreed-upon working hours to support clinical leadership needs.
  • Complete all required reviews and documentation sign-offs promptly, promoting efficient clinical operations.

Educational Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.

Qualifications

  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the required state(s).
  • Strong expertise in outpatient behavioral health treatment.
  • Experience working effectively as part of multidisciplinary mental health teams, including therapists, counselors, social workers, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and clinical directors.
  • Preferred background in community mental health settings.

Core Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of outpatient behavioral health interventions and treatment protocols.
  • Expertise in treatment planning and clinical documentation standards to ensure regulatory and clinical compliance.
  • Exceptional professional judgment to assess clinical appropriateness and to guide treatment improvements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate collaboration with clinical leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently, managing time efficiently and meeting deadlines for plan reviews and approvals.
  • Detail-oriented approach with the capacity to review documentation thoroughly and provide constructive feedback.
  • Reliable, dependable, and responsive to clinical leadership and team needs.

Examples of demonstrating these skills include leading case reviews, supporting quality assurance projects, consulting on complex treatment scenarios, and collaborating with the leadership team to refine clinical approaches.

Compensation and Schedule

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $175 to $225 per hour , reflecting the specialized expertise and critical role within the clinical team.

This is a  part-time, 100% remote position with a commitment of approximately 5 hours per week, providing excellent work-life balance and flexibility.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced psychiatrist who desires engagement in behavioral health without the traditional demands of a full patient caseload. We seek a collaborative professional who actively partners with Clinical Directors—not simply providing signature approval, but thoughtfully reviewing treatment plans, raising clinical concerns proactively, and advocating for individualized patient care excellence.
